There are many female role models to look up to, from acting to activism.

Two British women have made the list of the most admired women in the world.

YouGov’s World’s Most Appreciated list, which surveyed panellists in 41 countries, revealed that the top three women who inspire people around the globe are from the UK. The three women are:

  1. Michelle Obama (up 1 place compared to last year)
  2. Oprah Winfrey is also up one position from last year.
  3. Angelina Jolie (down 2 places since last year).

The Queen, who has maintained her position in the top three for the past two years, and Emma Watson (up a place from last year) are close behind.
The Queen is a Royal Patron or President of more than 600 charities and organisations, including military associations, professional organizations, and public service organisations. These include issues such as opportunities for youth, and the preservation and protection of wildlife and the environmental.

The woman&home Amazing Women Awards 2019, in partnership with Hotter, is a great opportunity to learn more about these women.

In reflecting on the Queen’s life and her reign of more than 60 years, her grandson, the Duke of Cambridge said: “I think I am speaking for my generation in saying that the example and consistency provided by The Royal Family is not only rare among leaders but also a source of pride and assurance.”
Emma Watson, the UN Women Goodwill ambassador appointed in July 2014 has been working on promoting girls’ education and other humanitarian projects for several years. She has visited Bangladesh and Zambia and worked on promoting girls’ education.

She has also supported many charities over the years, including Great Ormond Street Hospital (The United Nations Development Fund for Women) and UNIFEM.
