The chic lipstick shade set to be big for events this season

Summer events require us to use our best, long-lasting lippies to last through the long days and warm temperatures. While we love a red lipstick for special occasions, another lip look is set to be big this summer.

May was a big month for celebrity sightings, starting with the Met Gala with all its looks – such as Venus Williams’ sculpted glowing and Keeley hawes’ sleek bob. Then ending with the trio of the Chelsea Flower Show/Cannes Film Festival/Monaco Grand Prix.

While there were many stunning beauty looks (Viola Davis’ glam makeup for Cannes, we’re looking at ya), there’s one lip look that we’ve seen over and over.
It’s the classic, but very chic nude lip. The nude lip has been seen on many celebrities this season, but was especially prevalent at London’s Chelsea Flower Show, last week. This suggests that outdoor summer events will be big this year.
Celebs such as Myleene Klass wore the flattering shade.
While Myleene Gabby and Lisa chose to complement their floral prints with pretty nude lips, Trinny, and Frankie opted for a monochrome look with a slightly more bold nude for a dramatic effect.
Here’s how you can wear the most flattering shade in your summer wardrobe.
There’s a nude lipstick for everyone, whether you prefer a lighter, more delicate shade or a darker, bolder one.
Nude is not just one colour. Nude is a collection of browns, pinks taupes and beige, but it’s also defined as whatever matches your skin tone or lips.

It’s best to experiment with different shades to see what suits your skin tone. Many makeup websites now show the lipstick shades on models of all shapes and sizes. This can be a great tool to help you choose your shade.

If you are worried that something is too bold, you can try a different application technique. Instead of swiping on a lot of pigment, dab a few small touches onto your lips and then smudge them in with your fingers – this can completely change the look.
